BRINGING industry to the classroom is an essential part of increasing graduate employability at INTI Education Group.
Graham Doxey, who is INTI Education Group deputy chief executive officer, says doing so ensures the quality of its students and helps them to adapt seamlessly to the working environment.
In line with the group's Enrolment to Employment initiative, the Career Development Centre at INTI Subang works closely with industry and departments within the college to enhance experiential learning through events such as career talks and fairs, recruitment sessions, career guidance and industrial visits.
Eighteen organisations, which offered some 1,000 jobs, took part in the latest career fair at INTI Subang. The companies included event sponsors Great Eastern, Maybank, TNT, Prudential, KPMG, Standard Chartered, Air Asia, Contact Singapore and Jobstreet.com.
Other participating companies were Scope International, Dun & Bradstreet, IBM, Genting, Public Bank and First Impressions Image Consultants.
In addition to on-the-spot interviews, talks by industry representatives were conducted to help participants better understand the needs of the employment market.
Some 500 visitors consisting of INTI students and alumni and the public attended the event.
